Job Summary:


Commercial Superintendent - Painting and Coatings


The Apex Commercial Superintendent for Painting and Coatings will oversee and manage all painting and coating operations, ensuring the highest quality standards while maintaining strict safety protocols and environmental compliance.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Supervise and coordinate painting and coating projects across airport facilities
  • Manage crew performance, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control measures
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and airport operations
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of materials and equipment
  • Develop and implement project timelines and work schedules
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and maintain detailed project documentation


Technical Knowledge Requirements


Expert knowledge of industrial coating systems for various substrates, including: 


  • Aluminum surfaces and appropriate preparation methods
  • Steel surface treatments and coating requirements
  • Temperature-sensitive application techniques
  • Anti-corrosion systems
  • Specific coating requirements


Comprehensive understanding of: 


  • Environmental conditions affecting paint application
  • High-altitude painting considerations

Qualifications


  • Minimum 10 years experience in industrial painting and coatings
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in similar role

  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass airport security clearance


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to work in various weather conditions

You will work with PM/Estimators to help facilitate bids and site walks. 


Key Responsibilities:


Supervision and Oversight:

  • Manage daily on-site operations, ensuring work progress is on schedule and within budget.
  • Supervise subcontractors, craftsmen, and laborers, ensuring they adhere to plans and specifications.
  • Oversee all field personnel, manage subcontractor relationships, and maintain a harmonious working environment.
